Waiver for Air Force Reserve?
I had surgery to correct my scoliosis in 2007, so there is a metal rod by my spine. I've also had two knee surgeries. However, these things do not hold me back from doing anything. I even ran a marathon last year! Would it be at all possible to get a waiver from a doctor so I can join the Air Force Reserve?

Call your nearest Air Force Reserve Recruiter. Prior medical condition waiver requirements change all the time. Recruiters are extremely busy...if you need a waiver and they have 20 people who don't need waivers, they may not be able to take the time with you, just depends on the Recruiter and their work load. I have put the link for the AF Reserve below in sources. You won't know unless you call. Good Luck!

Your dad might write a letter of recommendation but that letter is definitely going to be put in the trash. At the same time i am sure your dad served honorably, in the eyes of senior officers who may just look at your waiver a employees sergeant is nothing. Nonetheless, despite the fact that your dad retired a common his rank is not imagined to influence the medical waiver method. Not pronouncing it are not able to if he used to be a normal but if the "good ole boy" method kicked in to get your waiver authorised and anyone within the procedure used to be caught heads would roll. All you can do is hope the doctors approve your waiver and if they deny it you might be free to try different branches. If other branches flip you down as well you desire a backup plan.
