Transcribing DNA ---> mRNA question help?

In some people the fibroblast growth factor gene contains a

base pair substitution that changes A-T pair to a G-C pair.

People with Achondroplasia have the G-C pair. If the DNA of the

template strand had a sequence GCTGCCC in people without

achondroplasia what mRNA sequence would be produced in

people with achondroplasia?

mRNA will be identical to the coding strand sequence - but complementary to the template strand.

Since the achondroplasic sequence would be GCCGCCC (since the 'T' is replaced by a 'C') your mRNA sequence is complementary = CGGCGGG
