Where does Obama see a mandate?
Ok, we had about 52% voting in the 2012 election. Obama got 27% and Mitt got 25%, that leaves 48% that did not vote for either. I would not call 2% a mandate. How can he.
If someone pays taxes weather or not they vote makes no difference. They are a part of the country and not voting does not change anything. If BO did not say mandate he implied it.
No matter how one looks at it 25% of 100% is not a mandate. Even the Senate has a 60% to be a mandate,

Goebbels said "Tell a lie over and over until people believe it". With a media that is his accomplices in the destruction of the US they will continue to influence the ignorant. The Truth seems to be the first casualty of Obamas reign.There was no mandate. It is is as you have outlined.... the truth.

I don't think he did declare it a mandate.
You literally can't count though the people who do not vote, they just don't care enough either way and so they don't matter, the only mandate he claimed was that the majority of people want to raise taxes on the wealthy. And that's been confirmed by every poll.
You may have that confused with McConnell's statement that there is no mandate to raise taxes and that he won't raise taxes on the wealthy and allow for the deductions on the middle class to continue.
It seems his money must come from that one percent. Not the numerically superior middle class.

The majority of people who cared enough to vote spoke. Therefore he has been given his mandate.
