What property does the mixture of foam polystyrene and acetone have that it can be made as an adhesive?

I have seen several videos on Youtube and I found out that when you soak foam polystyrene into an acetone, it can become an adhesive. I wanted to know what properties does this mixture (foam polystyrene and acetone) have that it becomes sticky.

Here are the links of the videos

The acetone acts as a vehicle for the polystyrene, Firstly it dissolves it forming a sticky mass, the sticky mass can work itself into the pores of the substances required to be affixed, the vehicle(acetone) the is volitile enough to quickly evaporate leaving behind the former sticky mass which has now solidified and holding the two pieces together.
