should i leave banana republic for volcom?
im 17 and ive been working at banana republic for not even 3 months. its a nice store but its not really for me, i dont see myself as fitting in, really, and i cant talk to most of my coworkers since they are all older than me because im a minor and they are not. volcom is hiring but would it look bad if i just apply and they take me and i just leave BR after only (barely)3 months? would it really matter? would the 3 months experience at banana help me land the job at volcom since its almost black friday also?

Volcom is a board sport company so the atmosphere reflects that of the good-natured, easy-going culture if you like this type of environment. There is no loyalty to a company in this hard economic climate where employers have no hesitation about firing or laying you off. Banan Republic is a well known
I recommend you at least apply since you appear from what you state that this would be a better fit for you; however, keep in mind you still might be working with a older staff who you can learn alot from. Your friends and social network are outside the job although it is nice and comfortable to work with people i.e. same age, want to do social things outside of work etc. but first and foremost a paycheck is important. The 3 months experience will help but not guarantee you will be hired since you are up against i.e. educated, experienced and talented people applying for these positions.
At the end of the day the decision is yours but you have nothing to lose by applying however I strongly suggest you do not quit your first job until you have a firm job offer from Volcom and NO unrealistic expectations that you will work with more minors or friendly people at Volcom. Good Luck!!
