my astra mk4 1.4 cuts out.if i wait about ten mins it will start again.then it will be ok for a couple of days.then it will do it again. no warning lights come on.ive changed the fuel filter. it made no difference

    That sounds like a crank sensor fault, they are temperamental with the heat of the engine, change it, not expensive, it's located near the crankshaft front pulley

    Both previous answers have merit. Failing petrol tank vacuum breather check having a dianostic chech run is best way forward as much more likely to pinpoint any electrical issues such as sensor problem. Even a crank sensor can cause issues. Garage may be cheaper than changing everthing in hope of a resolution.

    Could also be a blocked fuel tank breather, which isn't allowing sufficient air into the tank to replace fuel as it is used. Then a vacuum builds up and the engine stops until enough air has seeped in to allow fuel to flow again.
