So who is the greatest martial artist ever?
Dana White says Anderson Silva is greatest martial artist ever. How would Anderson Silva fare against for example, people like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Benny Urquidez, Gracie brothers, Bruce Lee, Joe Lewis when they were in their prime?

bruce lee could punch 18 times in one second, knock you six feet back from a one inch punch, he was 5 foot 7 and undefeated and no one could touch him, he must have been superhuman. anderson silva always impersonates bruce lee when he is training and has always said that he wants to be as good as bruce lee.

Fighters like Anderson Silva, Ali and Benny Urquidez are/where great sports martial artists who have proven themselves in the ring. Bruce Lee never proved himself so we don't really know how good he was. He was one of the most influential martial artists of all time though.

Dana White is a liar and con man who is full of crap. Anybody who believes him is gullible. The greatest martial artist ever includes men for centuries. How would he fare against Miyamoto Musashi, Milo of Crotona, Wang Hsu-Chin, Mas Oyama, James Figg, John Heenan, John L. Sullivan, etc.? They'd hand him his *** on a platter!

The greatest martial artist is the one who made the most impact on your life. The answer, of course, is one's own instructor.
Dana probably chose Silva because it is likely that Silva brought Dana his fame, fortune, and reputation - and therefore, impacted Dana the most. It is likely, though, that Silva didn't do much for you. Unless, of course, you bet the farm on one of his fights, and you came out a winner; then he could arguably be the greatest (for you).
For me, though, it would be one of my instructors. I haven't decided which yet.

I would say Anderson Silva is the greatest fighter ever as well because he fights real professional fighters that trained their butts off everyday and he still manages to make them look like less than amateurs. He also trains in MMA which is the best parts of every martial arts yet MMA is unique to every other martial art it's the ultimate martial art. If he ever fought a boxer the boxer would not stand a chance because the lack of ground skills etc. I would say Bruce Lee might be second because of his athleticism but he only fought 'Kung fu masters' and not pro fighters. Just my opinion.
