I can't sort my table in word 2007, help.?

I am trying to sort a table that covers six pages in word 2007, I am getting the feeling that the way the woman who previously had my job created it by making several tables. But anyway I have a table that is sorted alphabetically by patient name. My boss wants it sorted numerically by admission date. When I sort it I can only sort 1 page at a time. But I need all pages sorted to accurately sort the date. And I don't know how to do it, please help Thank you!!

It may be 1 table per page. To find out, view non-printing characters. If you are not seeing the spaces between words or paragraph markers, either press Ctr-Shift-* or click on the ¶ symbol on the Home tab, Paragraph group.

Do you see a ¶ at the end of each page? If you do, this means there is 1 table per page. You can make it all one table by deleting the ¶ at the end of each page and if necessary the first row of each additional page, if it has the names of the columns, on every page.
