City Centre Riverside - Family Enetertainment?

We are staying at the Holiday Inn Stockwell Street soon and are looking for various things to do as a family. Such a good priced restaurants for lunch and dinner, maybe swimming?, museums?, anywhere we simply must go to whilst staying there?. What would you lovely locals recommend? Thanks

Update:

Thanks Jackie, the transport Museum sounds great!

The Transport Museum is right on the Riverside and a must to see. Glasgow Art Galleries another must, Provand's Lordship (Oldest house in Glasgow), Peoples Palace. Take the bus top tour its great and shows you all the sites to see. Eating out. Look for two for one deals there are loads around. Have a lovely trip to my city.

You will be staying right in the city centre and 100 yards from where you are there is St Enoch's Shopping Centre and the main shops in argyle St and Buchanan St, a few miles away heading to the west end there is the art galleries and along the clyde you have the transport museum, there is lots of nice places to eat and Merchant City have some nice Italian restaurants, I also recommend you bring warm clothes and a raincoat, Good Luck.

YA is confused today I am editing someone else's answer instead of my own! they have transferred my name to this answer.

Try above but also consider buying a day ticket on FirstGalsgow - lot cheaper and more flexible. Try a trip on our underground - one line, tiny trains but quite efficient.

Science Museum, Botanic gardens, Modern Art, Museum of religion, Glasgow cathedral, necropolis, Lighthouse, Martyrs School,School of Art etc etc

If you really want swimming go further out than city centre egsee http://www.glasgowlife.org.uk/sport/our-facilities...
