why is xbox live not working? 10pts?

i have no connection issues,but my xbl is not woking any ideas why?

Update:

no my connection is fine,+ive had xbl since when the first xbox came out(still have it)

i did hear that it was something to do with a security thing with Microsoft?

    It sometimes will go out for no reason.

    One fix is deleting your xbox live profile off of your HDD, and then downloading it again.
