the best battery for a camera.?

My Kodak C613 point and shoot uses a LOT of batteries. I decided to take a look at using rechargeable batteries. The rechargeables lasted maybe 40 minutes.

Is there some kind of super-duper rechargeable that would last longer? It would be nice if they could hold out for a couple of hours. A birthday party can last that long.

Or if rechargeables are not a good idea, let's hear some opinions about the best battery to buy for a camera. I have been getting copper-tops.

Thanks

it could be that your rechargeables are duds. I have two sets of duracell rechargeables, and one set totally suck (don't last that long). The other lasts a long time.

I got some energizer recheargables that have been really good. I charge them with my duracell charger.

Your battery life seems awful short. Are you using the instruction book in regards to setting the type of battery in the menu of the camera? If you are using rechargeable batteries and the camera is set for Lithiums you will have these type problems. incidentally Lithiums came with my Pentax Kx, DSLR camera and lasted 9 months! Eneloops are the best rechargeable batteries around and last longer than off brands rechargeable batteries. (Haven't compared to Ever-ready or Duracell).

    Good Luck!
