True or false in acting 'makeup' is where you get your make up & hair done?

I am asking because I have a disagreement with someone on what makeup is in acting. they insist I am incorrect that it does not include hair and i am positive it does. so if it doesn't include hair where would you get hair done? thank you. Please be appropriate & do not spam. Thanks again

it depends on the production. one person will do makeup, another will do hair, and another will do your wardrobe or costume. one person is not usually going to do everything.

It depends entirely on the production.

Some bigger studios have a separate make-up room from the hair room, some have special effects make-up also separate.

Smaller studios and theatres usually call the room where everything is done together, make-up and hair, which they'd refer to as 'make-up'.

But when actors talk about going to 'make-up' they usually mean the place where everything gets done once they're in costume - hair, effects, make-up, hats, veils, scars - the lot.

And that's whether the actual place consists of one or several rooms, or just a corner of the dressing room.

One music video my daughter was in had 'make-up' in a toilet, and one film had 'make-up' in a toilet tent in the middle of a field. And in both cases, it was where they had their face, hair and costume done. The glamour of the acting business!
