Do you associate religion and music together or separate?
So many people think that death metal is satanic and i dont understand why. When people hear heavier music they say that it must be evil, but when people hear piano music they dont say that it must be catholic. Why in your mind does or does not music determine a individuals religion?

separate. I am an atheist and a musician. music has nothing to do with religion unless it is gospel music or the words or title refer to a higher being. music creates moods and feelings just like words do, so I supose some people associate those moods and thoughts with different religions. I do not.

Yeah, I keep it separate as well. Or rather, I know that it can all be mixed up. It's funny that you mention heavy metal as being satanic, since there are in fact a number of Christian metal bands out there. As an agnostic person, I personally enjoy listening to Theocracy; and they are VERY heavy on the religious aspect of their music.

Most music comes from the heart in some form (even that "Satanic" music is a way to manifest violent emotion in a safe and meaningful way), so I would dub music as being a very spiritual thing.
Not religious, but spiritual. There is a huge difference.
