Can I feed my ball python 2 small rats a week?
I have a 2 year old female ball python that weighs 1100 grams and I want to start feeding her 2 rats a week, they are about 4 inches in length not including the tail is this okay? She's about 4 feet long and throws down one rat in like 5 minutes.

it would be a more satisfying meal if you give her one larger rat.
A snake should take AT LEAST 10 minutes to eat a meal; if it is quicker than 10 mins you need to give a larger rodent. As a rough guide, you should feed a prey item that is as fat as the largest part of your python.
A snake takes 5 days to digest a meal if it is at optimum temperature, you should the give it 2 days of fasting before feeding it again.

do not overfeed, you'll finally end up with a ill overweight snake. the guideline is, feed the snake prey as large because the fattest area of that is body. she will be in a position to strengthen at her own cost, not in any respect "means feed" or attempt to make a snake get larger by technique of over feeding it. How previous is she? She's probable youthful to be 2 ft. my 2 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous 3 ft ball is on small rats, so as which will be too a lot for her. I used mice even as my balls were youthful. i wish you're feeding frozen/thawed, stay prey can injure or perhaps kill a snake. you're saying she's not gaining weight, see you later as her ribs and backbone are not sticking out she's probable the right length, see you later as she's not dropping weight. sturdy success!

Yes you can. But if she is is 4 foot, she can be eating 2 small-mediums. Or even one medium-large a week
