Can you put big tires on a low profile rims?
Just a thought. I found some 17s I want but the tires on the rims are low profile 255/45/17. I think the rims are too. I want to know if I can put 265/70/17 on low pros or do I need to find regular rims?

Wheels don't have a "profile". They have a diameter and a width. If the wheels are currently fitted with car tires like 255/45R17 they are probably not strong enough for the much heavier truck you plan to put them on.

If the wheels are the correct width for 225 wide tyres then they won't be wide enough for 265 width tyres.
Any wheel can take a range of tyre widths, but what you are asking for here is too much difference.
Also 225.45.17 tyres are a normal car tyre, so presumably the wheels will fit a car like a BMW or Mondeo or Laguna, but 265.70.17 tyres are designed for 4x4s and big SUVs, so the stud pattern of the wheels will not be suitable.

You can fit those 17inch tyres on a 17inch rim, no problem. What you are proposing will result in a MUCH taller sidewall to the tyre, from 115mm to 185.5mm - this is going to likely over-fill your wheel-arches by some SIX INCHES! and may well foul the tyres on the bodywork and/or suspension components, as well as seriously raising the vehicle - remember, to get better road-holding, we LOWER a car, we never RAISE it! Your speedo and mileometer will also read WAY too-low, you could be doing 60 and only reading 40 because the wheels are making FAR fewer turns-per-mile.

Putting tires that are not meant for other cars/trucks can lead to tires popping or coming off the axle which leads to server car crash which leads to death.
