How much is an old Bell & Howell camera worth?
I was at an estate sale, and they were selling an old camera. I think it is a Bell and Howell 8mm Home Camera, based on the photo from wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Bell_%26_Howell_...
I remember that on the front, there is what I think is a viewfinder, with a red rectangle and a yellow rectangle on the viewfinder (front). There is a crank on the side like in the photo. On the front, there is a triangular part like in the photo, with three lenses. One had a green circle around it, one red, and I think one yellow. It also came with a sepia filter. How much would this be worth if I tried to resell it? It was in good condition for something that old, with scratches. It was selling for 25 dollars, and I think I can lower it down to 20 dollars. Would I make a profit if I bought it and tried to sell it? Should I sell it right away, or put it in a safe deposit box and wait a few years?

8mm is practically extinct - the guy's looking for a passing mug who'll give him $25 more than it's worth - walk away.

It would depend on the condition of the camera and if it still works. If it was property of US Army Air Corps, it is older that 1947, probably even earlier. Check for the location of an antique appraiser in your area, particularly one that deals with cameras.

You'd be lucky to find a buyer. Film & processing will cost you more than the camera.
