Kan Kallis Katch Sachin?
Only 7 centuries behind is it likely he can pass Tendulkar before they both retire?

He's 37 and still in good form. He's got fourteen test innings between now a next March. Baring injury, he's got at least sixteen innings after that, probably more.
That gives him 30+ innings to get seven tons. This is within his capabilities, and is a real chance of happening. His career has seen him average a century every 3.5 innings. He needs one every four innings, which is a big ask, but not impossible over 30 innings. (And he should play more than 30 innings).

Of those you point out Jacques Kallis is the fine. DeVilliers is a good player, but to place him within the equal league as Kallis, Ponting and Tendulkar suggests you lack a lot advantage of cricket.

yes......kallis has a record of scoring 2 or 3 centuries in each series he plays.........so he is the only man who can break that record

Well, I am not too sure about it. A few years ago Ponting had got really close but failed to catch up with Sachin's good form.
What I think is he may just get those 7 tons but Sachin is not over yet.
I believe that Sachin can still get more.

It depends on how long he plays. If he plays for another 2 years, say 20 test matches then like Surrounded by the sea said, it is well within his capabilities. He's in the form of his life so it's possible but could be very challenging considering his age.
But I personally like to see him retiring before losing his touch. He should learn from Ponting and Sachin not to get in to a pit hole, struggling to score runs. He should retire on a higher note with dignity. So he better call it a day when he is at his best.
Therefore he should not chase the record IMO.
