Yup. But wait... they'll be back!
Source(s): The term "discontinued" is subjective. Were they ever supposed to continue? - 9 years ago
On November 16, 2012
Hostess Brands Inc. announced that it is winding down operations and has filed a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court seeking permission to close its business and sell its assets, including its iconic brands and facilities. Bakery operations have been suspended at all plants. Delivery of products will continue and Hostess Brands retail stores will remain open for several days in order to sell already-baked products. So yeah there are being discontinued

Yes, sort of. The owners of Hostess have claimed that the unions and the President have driven them out of business. What really happened is the owners all voted themselves huge pay raises and bonuses, drained all of the company's cash, and and when the unions wanted raises too, they filed for bankruptcy.
But federal regulators are in the process of seizing all of the company's records. There is a good chance that the bankruptcy will be denied, the old owners will go to prison, and the Hostess brand will be sold off and come back under new ownership.

everything ive read is that the union is running hostes into the ground. They are "shutting down" and selling the company so they can reopen under new ownership and with a clean slate. Any contracts made with existing employees will become null if they decide to continue working for hostes and i would imagine their wages will be decreased as well. Under new ownership you can expect the products to decline in quality. Glad i dont eat any of that toxic garbage, it always upsets me when they take something i like and then poop all over it.

Yes. Hostess went out of business, so all Hostess products are to be discontinued. A shame! Twinkies are one of the only non-perishable foods!

A company will buy the copy right and continue producing them as if nothing happened. The 2012 twinky crisis is hilarious simply because of how people react.
