Okay guys, I thoroughly rinsed my mouth out because I have a new tongue ring and I thought it could be?
Infected! But I don't think so. But now it's irritated. What can I do?!

You need to rinse your mouth with non-alcoholic mouth wash after drinking or eating anything. If its infected it could be red, have pus, be swollen (depending on how long ago you got it, swelling is normal) but just to be sure you should visit your piercer or a doctor to check. If it is infected a course of anti-biotics will do the job (:

It will help if you also explain when was it you got the tongue ring. If its recently, it may be just a slight bruise and you should let it heal. What other symptoms do you experience? Pus? Pain? Fever? If you experience any of those, please consult a medical practitioner, you may have an infection
