i have a 50cc scooter that got the kick start stuck won't turn on now?

i was riding with the airbox loose i didn't notice. Ran over water sucked through into carb took apart carb that was full of water now the kick start is stuck and the bike won't even turn on any ideas? p.s i took spark plug out to get all water out of head none came through i mustve kick started it like 400 times nothing came out thanks agian

do you think i would have to buy new parts to fix this hydro lock?

    Sounds like the engine locked up. It is called hydrolock.

    Yes hydrolock happens when water is ingested into the cylinder and the engine tries to compress it. Since water is not combustible the force too great and the engine must either fail or stop immediately like that very second. Often a vehicle is moving when this happens so the second option is not the case and a internal part within the engine fails. Often connection rods bend/break meaning you will need a new top end. If this is a 2-stroke engine then water could of entered the crankshaft causing corrosion and thus would need a new bottom end.

    Either way the only way to find out is to open the engine up and see what damaged has been caused. Most likely you will need a new engine.

    You cannot compress water = hydro lock.

    Oil won't be effective if water is in it so that has to be cleared. Also fuel has to displace the water before it will start.
