1991 Ford F150 Fuel Tank Problem?

I have a Ford F150 with duel tanks. When I switch to the back tank, the engine will miss.. I understand that there are three fuel pumps on this pick up. Can anyone tell me what to fix?

    it may be water or a kinked line.the only way i know to check the lift pump is unhook it before the pressure pump and run it checking flow and crossreferencing fuel delivery in your repair manual.it should be like 4-7 lbs and im not sure of the amount.i would not assume it was a fuel pump without checking it.
