If I were you, I would definitely choose sixth form over college. I did and I haven't looked back! In sixth form, you get more support from teachers so if you are concerned about finding things hard this will really help!
A Level course aren't that bad, but it depends on what subjects you take! For example, I've heard that psychology is meant to be really hard!
Obviously, A Levels are going to be harder than GCSEs but I didn't find it to be as much of a jump as most people had said! The only thing I am finsind is that there is much more content!
Or if you really think you will struggle with A-Levels, how about finding a sixth form that offers BTEC courses?

You can do what you like as you are past school leaving age.
I would go to a Sixth Form College, if you can - it is not like school.
