Should I be worried?! Please read.?
I got my tongue pierced five days ago, it still swells in the morning and it hurts when I eat. Around the too hole, is a circular ring of swollen tongue, I'm not sure if this is normal. Also, the tip of my tongue is very sore along with the sides of my mouth, what could be the cause of this?

All those are normal. Tongue will be sore, tender and swollen for the first 3-5 days. The swelling will be completely gone in 2 weeks.
Use ice cubes to take down the swelling if you want. Just put an ice cube in your mouth and gently start soaking it. Do not try to break the ice cube with your teeth though, just keep soaking.
You should not stretch your tongue or stick it out because this is irritating for the piercing and will hurt a lot. The less you use your tongue the better.
If you still want to show the piercing to your friends just open your mouth so they can see, and do not stick it out.
It will take up to 3 months to fully heal but the difficult period is those first 2 weeks.
You need to mouthwash ( non alcohol mouthwash ) every time you eat or drink anything else except water.
Avoid dairy products ( too many bacteria ) and spicy food ( irritate and hurt like hell ) for the first 2 weeks.

hi i actually have my tongue pierced, ive had it for over a year now. my tongue was stilll causing me trouble a week after having it done-not bad after the first couple of days but it was still swollen and hurt when i ate for a while. it is fine now though it just takes a little time to heal and become comfortable... u did have a big needle go through your tongue lol. as long as your tongue looks the same color and not very painful i doubt its infected&the little ring is probably just from your tongue swelling around the ball of the ring and leaving a little indention which will go away as soon as the swelling goes down. just make sure you clean it like your supposed to and u wont have any problems(:
