Is experience in telemarketing a good thing when looking for a job in retail?

mainly a team/assistant manager position, but retail in general. I took this job very recently, but what i really want to do in the future is retail, and took this job in telemarketing frankly cos i need the money. i do have two years retail experience with a very well established company, but i needed full time work. i dont really like the job at the mo but i guess ill have to stick it out so i dont look like a job hopper. But i was just wondering whether employers view telemarketing experience as a good thing, especially if looking for a career in retail.
