If everyone on food stamps stops buying food, would that destroy countless jobs in the food supply chain?

Seems to me that it would. If there's no money for food, there's no money for food. That means mass starvation, increased shoplifting, layoffs in grocery stores and charity based food aid such as soup kitchens being overwhelmed.

Then again, what if people moved into tent cities in public parks and still bought their food? Maybe getting rid of food stamps wouldn't cause all that starvation, can always be technically homeless instead. Would this resemble the Great Depression?

Update:

That's such a good idea that I'll delete the question before I let you have best answer points for it.

Hey , Libs claim to be big on Darwinism , right ?

If that is true then those not fit enough to provide for their families or themselves should go extinct .

That whole starvation thing might get messy.

It would be a PR nightmare.

Here's a suggestion: Make sterilization a requirement for Food Stamps.

If you want Food Stamps -- you must first get sterilized.
