Why do I get frequent UTIs? (2 questions)?

I get UTIs a lot, I used to get them more often than now, but by this point, it's annoying. I would make doctor's appointments, but by the time I could get checked out, the infection would be gone. The only way I know it's a UTI is because I researched the symptoms and my doctor called in a prescription for the UTI antibiotic before and that had helped. I've been urinating blood, frequently having to visit the rest room, and I only end up urinating a small about, but it's still bloody. I don't have a fever or feel neuseas (I can't ever spell that word correctly). My lower back doesn't hurt to be my kidneys, when it does, I just blame it on the fact that I broke my spine a couple years ago. My mom is a nurse and I called her and she said it sounds like a bladder infection making it's way into my kidneys. but not there yet. I looked up ways to prevent UTIs when I first starting getting them; urinating after sex, drinking lots of water, avoid orange juice or other acidic drinks, everything, and they calmed down, but today I was sent home from work because I couldn't even hide the pain. My insurance ran out, and I'm kind of desperate. Last time this happened, my doctor called in the antibiotic prescription without seeing me, but I had insurance. Does anybody know how much the antibiotic on average would cost from the pharmacy with no insurance? And also does anybody know what could possibly be the cause of me getting so many bladder infections/UTIs?

Please no rude comments, I'm in a lot of pain, and I just need answers.

Thank you so much to anyone with any information!

Other information:

Even when I'm not having this problem, I have a hard time holding my urine, I do those kegel exercises to tighten those muscles, but I'm not sure if that is even helping.

I think your mom is right. I kept getting UTI's and even though I was treating it, they kept coming back. My doctor never look at me when I had a UTI, just gave me the medicine. He was a horrible doctor. So the pain got worse each time because there was an underlying issue that I didn't know about. The one thing that I changed about myself was how I wiped after using the restroom. always wipe away from yourself, never towards yourself. When you wipe towards yourself, you are basically shoving the urine on your vagina back into the urine track. Also if you poop, you end up wiping that into the urine track also. I know it sounds silly, but to help with the pain for now, drink about 5 glasses of cranberry juice. It doesn't make the problem go away, but it makes almost all of the pain go away.

Maybe your mom can help you go to the doctor and you can pay her back? It sounds like this is not something to mess around with right now. These things can get very serious very quickly.

Uhhh I know how painful those are, I have one every 3 months, especially after sex. there are tablets your doctor can give you to take every day for the next three months in order to avoid the UTI so ask him about this. Cranberry juice is suppose to be great for this. And pee before and after sex to get rid of bacteria. Don;t hold your pee in if you need to go, just go. Don't leave it to go on it's own or else it will infect your kidneys
