Yahoo! Answers requires that I sign in each time I return to the site.?

Well if you're on private mode, the login credentials aren't saved. I don't know if that's your case, though?
If it isn't, then try going to settings> safari> delete cookies and data. Then you'll have to login one more time, and hopefully no more. :)
