Can foxes realey be domestacated?

My crazy cousin wants a pet fox and id like to make sure they realey can be domestecated.

    No, they can't. True domestication requires hundreds of years. Foxes can be tamed, but they are still wild animals. Any wild animal is not domesticated. For instance, my snake was born in captivity, but she's not domesticated. She's tame, but she's still a wild animal.

    Truly domesticated animals have been modified with selective breeding to make them more useful or calmer with people.

    Private ownership of foxes is now illegal in most states. I owned a pair of Fennec Foxes years ago that were great...although they weren't like the ones you're thinking of that Russia has developed which are very tame.

    Yes they can. There is a breeding program I think in Russia that breeds tame foxes. They're about $5k though, so good luck affording one.
