What do you think about this Male name?
My last name is Vanderbilt and my husbands last name is Hemsworth.
We both love the name Beauregard (and it is extra special for me because it was my beloved grandfather's name).
We have decided to name our first son Beauregard.
However, lately I've been having some serious second thoughts because I'm worried it is too much.
Beauregard Hemsworth. My friend said the name sounded like an Southern Company.
I LOVE the name Beauregard because it reminds me of my grandfather and makes me think of Southern nobility. But it is a bit too much. Even; Beauregard Vanderbilt is too much.
Help.
What should I do?
No way! He is NOT getting a middle name. I was just sharing my surname.
His only name will be Beauregard Hemsworth.

If you want to honour your grandfather, good for you, do it and call him Beau on a day to day basis.
If we have a girl Mary will feature in her name somewhere and I know people will turn their noses up, but its important to me as it was my Grandmothers name, so have decided I will ignore the negative comments.
I actually like Beauregard and Beau is v cute and not 'out there' good luck x

To be honest, I think it's a bit much. Beauregard is a pretty intense name, and the nickname Beau has a bit of a gay connotation. But it's not the worse possible name you could use by any means, and as you say, it does have a certain Southern hospitality ring to it. It's up to you if you use it, just remember that this is a name your child will have for the rest of their life. If you're having doubts, it's always best to play it safe when it comes to naming children.
Also, just curious, why did you share your last name?

You could still do that, I would just call him Beau as a nickname, not all the kids at school would even have to know his full name (if thats what your worried about). Beau Vanderbelt, Beau Hemsworth :)

If you really like it and want to honor your grandfather than that is sweet and go ahead and do so. You can always call him Beau as a nickname.

Make that a middle name? It IS too much. It would give him a hard time. I suggest making a middle name and making that his first name or making that his middle name and making a new first name?
