Is there a good alternative to taking Clindamycin for dental issues?
Hi,
I just today had the first part of a root canal, the dentist took out all the bad stuff and put in antibiotic and a temporary filling. He gave me Clindamycin to take and I forgot the last time I took it I got a really bad C-Diff infection. So I'm not touching the stuff.
I've taken Z-Packs before (Azithromycin) and have had no problems, so I'm thinking of either asking for something like that instead or just boosting my immune system by taking a Vitamin C / Zinc / Vitamin D complex I saw.
I'm currrently having no more issues with the tooth, no pain, but I just had the procedure done.
I'm allergic to Penicillins and Bactrim.
Just wondered if anyone else was in the same position.
Thanks,
Matt

I am allergic to both antibiotics so I chose to research natural methods and found out about wild oil of oregano. Some darn potent stuff I must say. If you do choose to take it try it with some orange juice (was the easiest for me). I bought mine at superstore that had an organic section. Gives ya pizza burps! lol!

Divine Oubliette is absolutely right. Dr. Hale's research is the best. He is the absolute expert in breastfeeding and medications. The reason that package inserts nearly always say you can't take it is that they don't bother doing tests on breastmilk. So you have to go to other research, like Dr. Hale's. Your doctor and Dr. Hale's research are much more reliable and accurate resources than your pharmacist, who only has the information on the product inserts to go by.
