Tummy Tuck, before or after weight loss?
I'm considering a tummy tuck along with a hysterectomy because of my pelvic pain and large tummy preventing me from exercising. I've been for one consult and he said no problem to do surgery before weight loss, but I've read other drs suggest only for after weightloss.

I just had a tummy tuck two weeks ago and everything I had researched as I was preparing myself for the procedure had said that ideally a patient is within 15 pounds of their ideal weight. Also it is preferred that your BMI is under 40 to reduce health risks. I was 20/25 pounds from my ideal weight when I got the procedure and my surgeon had no problem with it. My results are looking great and even if I lose more weight - I'm not going to have any hanging skin because I was close enough to my goal weight. So I would definitely say get your weight down within a good range of your ideal body weight. If the doctor you consulted with doesn't have a problem with it - then it's up to you whether or not you feel you should lose weight before going through with it. In my case, I wasn't as close to my ideal weight as the research said to be but it wasn't a problem for my doctor and I'm seeing great results. Good luck to you!

Enjoy your treats away from home. Pop to the ice cream parlour for just a scoop of your favourite flavor, or plan a meal treat with friends on a weekend. Turning your cravings into a adventure takes the temptation away from snacking at home.
