What is love, to you?

Question

I already know the scientific definition of love. But what does love mean to you? My boyfriend told me he loved me, but I don't believe in it, I guess I would believe in it if I knew what it was but I have no idea what it is. My mum told me it's when you find happiness in someone elses but I think it's more than that. And how do I know if he really loves me? I did ask him and he said he does but that's just words right? I felt no meaning behind it.

Depending on whom you ask, it could be any or all of the following:
- sexual lust
- romantic attraction
- need for company

The to know if he "really loves" you is if he gives up something he likes to make you happy, and does so WITHOUT you asking for it. I.e. he stops playing a game when you call him, or he chooses to goes out with you instead of partying with his buddies, and does that of his own free will, and not after you put on a pouty face or make a scene.

so, i recently found out that i love this girl.  I think about her all day, i have dreams about her, we have almost evrything in common, and shes cool and good looking. i like her a lot. i never want to let her go, but if she would go with another guy, i would be a little mad then realize that if shes happy, then im happy.  i love her. i love her voice, her face, her body, her personality, everything.  I am pretty much obsessing over this girl.  I could never hate her no matter what she has done. i guess its safe to say that i love her.  I can feel it in my heart that i want her. I think that you should be able to here it in his voice.
