Will you rate these "Child"songs and suggest other ones that I might like?

Any list of "Child"songs needs to start with Hendrix but I am going to list a cover of one of his greatest songs

1 - VooDoo Child - Stevie Ray Vaughn

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sF2ZqlPNuqU

2 - Child of Another Day - Walter Trout - sorry about the crappy quality of the video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkxadlhAteU

3 - Child In Time - Gregorian - a different take on the Deep Purple classic

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrzOnwKr9Ow

4 - Child of The Earth - Gov't Mule

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qb2KS5t67Lg

5 - Child of The Moon - The Rolling Stones

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2G0AOCU354

6 - Sweet Child oF Mine - Taken By Trees covering Guns n Roses

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dqVDQ-lF4Q

7 - Last Child - Aerosmith

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUieA7epeKQ

8 - War Child - Jethro Tull

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVn2wbWFz5I

9 - Problem Child - AC/DC

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBTRSMh4pnQ

10 - Highway Chile - Jimi Hendrix

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RT0B2K6MWk

I know some of these are unusual versions and some aren't very well known but I am always looking for something a little different from the usual.

Here are some I didn't have enough links for:

11 - Child of Innocence - Kansas

12 - Bless You Child - Bette Midler

13 - Belfast Child - Simple Minds

14 - War Child - The Cranberries - not the same song as Tull's

15 - Hot Child In The City - Nick Gilder

16 - Wild Child - The Doors

17 - Wild Child - Heart

18 - Love Child - The Supremes - LOVE this song

    Good afternoon Mike :)

For once these days, I have time to sit down and go through fully!

    1) Ah, now, this is the one used in "Black Hawk Down"... I, well, I *LOVE* the original, and really can't get past that with this cover. Stevie gets points for effort, but compared to Jimi it can only be a 6.

    2) Never heard of him! Umm... no, a 5.

    3) I have their version of 'Scarborough Fair'. Shame the music has been synthesized {my big bugbear}, but overall it gets a 7.

    4) Hmm... not heard it or them before {reminds me of Paul Weller}, but it gets a 6.

    5) Not one of their's I know. Oh, no, just a 1.

    6) Love the original... oh, I think this was used on a UK advert. Hmm... a 7 for the arrangement, but just 3 for the vocals.

    7) They tend to be 'hit-and-miss' for me, and this is a... miss. It's a 2.

    8) Overall it's a favourite album, and the title-track gets a 7.

    9) Never been into this band - don't like their sound. It's a 1.

    10) I like it, I have it, it gets an 8.

    11) Never heard this before... not sure about the lyrics, but the music is a 7 or 8.

    12) Oh, too 'pop-y' for me. It's a 1.

    13) This song should be a British classic, it's from my childhood, and I've never knowingly heard it til now! So quite a surprise to hear it's based on 'She Moved Through the Fair'... Well, it's got to be an 8!

    14) I'm not a fan of this band, mostly because of her voice. No, it's a 2.

    15) Hmm... not my thing, but I'll give it a 5.

    16) Noooo.... 2 at the most.

    17) Ah - that's more like it! It's got to be an 8½.

    18) Not a group I choose to listen to - really not my taste.

Well, I have to add these :~

A good listen but not great. 8.Little Does She Know: 7/10. Nice, but omg the singer should have changed stylists. 9. Do Anything You Wanna Do: 8/10. Great. 10.How Long. 10/10. It's easy to forget just how good this song is. Thanks David. New to me were Upminister Kids and Keys to your heart. I like them very much.
