Why is Gregg Popovich resting his starters vs Heat?
WHY?

The Spurs played six road games in ten days and were just finishing a stretch of four games in five days. They also play the best team in the Western Conference tomorrow night. It makes perfect sense to rest your best players in an essentially meaningless early season game. The Spurs are looking to win a championship and it is pretty much common sense that your players will perform better well rested than tired and worn out.

Agreed why did Gregg Popovich rest his starters so he could give Tim Duncan a kiss on the lips

He knew they were going to lose and it wasn't worth the effort. Sorry but Greg is smarter than that. He would sit his team against Charlotte/Washington/Heat because he knows he will lose or beat them with or without his top 3 players. Will he sit them in the playoffs? I don't think so.

It has nothing to do with his players actually NEEDING rest. It is a psychological game he is playing with the Heat, and probably David Stern too.
