When man was still banding into tribal groups were they more Capitalistic or Socialistic?

How did they handle health care?

How did they handle housing?

Did the hunters get to keep all of their game or did they share?

Did the gatherers share what they gathered or did it go to the highest bidder?

How did they handle policing? Were some used to spy on others?

    You ask many questions, grasshopper.

And the answers to these questions differed depending on the culture you're studying..

Many ancient cultures, as far as we can tell, revered the emotional intelligence that comes with age & made provisions for taking care of the elderly.

But essentially I think it boils down to this, the more you depend on technology to do the work that people would do, the less Socialist you need to be as a ruling elite.

We honestly don't have many records about how things were divided up when people were actually engaged in splitting up their resources, most of them are second hand stories long after the fact, so I can't really tell you about that except to say that it depended on how much food stress the culture was under at the time.

There are records of pre-biblical spies, so you can probably assume that the behavior predates our record keeping, police came about more with the rise of the polis/city/city state as there's little profit in stealing something every-one that you know already has.

    Hope that helps.

I would use the word Egalitarian over those two. Check out the Native American tribes, they tended to be this way, and they were tribal groups.

Health Care? Can't compare medicene men to today's health care.

Housing? Teepees, and they were nomadic so this served them well, humble living arrangements.

Food? From my limited knowledge they were very community oriented, so they shared.

Policing? I don't think they even really needed them.

Some would call them savages, but I would argue that they were very wise and live a much better life than those who looked down their nose at them.

The South American tribe of Aztecs that sacrificed people on altars I wouldn't think very highly of, but to each his own I guess.
