Army jobs WOMEN!! CANT HAVE!?!?
Im 14 and Ive been wanting to join the army for 10 years I was inspired by my dad`s stories and films. And the fact 5 years later my cousin went to aghganistan and still is. I have army blood in my veins. I want to be on the frontline with the men shooting protecting my country feeling the adrenline and takiiing risks I have been working on this my whole life. Im in the army cadets for 1 year I know how to shoot a gun I know first aid, ranks, history etc everything. But NO I go on the british army site and I look at the job roles I looked at infantry as thats the one I wanted to do all my life then I see its only for male. So I look at the other job roles similar and still male. The only one I found close enough is light gunner but I have to promote myself up 4 ranks before I can do the commando course. So this has really PISSED me off so Im wondering WHY THE HELL CANT WOMEN BE APART THE INFANTRY OR THE SAS!!! are women not good enough im sure women are up to the challenge and im sure women would love to be apart the infantry. Unless there is any oppitunuties for women to join. Other than that anyone know
Ive been doing karate almost 4 years. Im mentally and pyshicaly strong. I used to get beaten up at school I kicked the crap out of them with no karate experience. I cant remember the last time I cried. I saved my dad from 6 people who were 18. I do parkour. I have a home gym. I am no way weak. This what Ive trained for all my life. Fair enough not all women feel the same but I could change the system that stops men from looking down on us as I can do the job twice as better
your answers are CRAP. Once women werent allowed to even work. They were given a chance to work to make bullets that was the first step then they were allowed to fight with the men and so I will believe it or not will keep it changing to prove women are equaly strong. I can hold loads of weight all the time. I can run I can lift I can shoot and I have the leadership responsability and maturity. I dont care what science says because you know what people will get hurt and it is hard but the army is all about pushing yourself no matter what

Because it's the law, let's go with that. If you look back a few pages, I answered a similar question earlier and summed it up pretty well, same goes for the UK Army. Just because you can't have combat jobs doesn't mean you won't see combat or can't have a good job. Too bad your pissed off, not gonna change anything.
EDIT: No, my answer is correct. It is against the law. You are 14, and are being way too biased right now and not being objective. I could disprove your argument, and argue it your way as well. I know a little more about this than you do, and know about the LAW (you will not change that yourself) and a little about human anatomy and physiological and common sense. Few women can meet the standard for infantry, so it doesn't make sense to allow women in infantry since so few can do it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The military already has great infantry units, so unless the women can do it better, there's no reason to let them in. The military is not an equal opportunity employer, sorry if the truth hurt your feelings, but I am telling you the truth. Nobody is looking down on women. This is not men vs. women, it's about what's best for the military.
That's all I'll post here, if you wish to discuss it further, e-mail me.

Simply it is the matter of the law the SAS is special forces you have to be in excellent shape to get in. Women should have the same responsibilities as men not just the same rights how is that fair that men have more responsiblities but no more opportunities than women get. Simply it is just the way it is if you do not like the british army then go to another country and join their military so you can serve in frontline combat since that is what you want.

This question gets asked here alot...My Standard Answer: Because Congress said so...Congress passes the laws, so it's the law that women cannot go into Combat Arms positions, and Infantry is Combat Arms. Rationale for the law? You will hear lots of reasons, many of which are very valid...the biggest being that the physical standards for Combat Arms are too tough even for some men to handle. Even if there are women out there (which I doubt) who could meet the physical standards required for Combat Arms, there wouldn't be enough to justify the accommodations required. The Combat Arms' missions are too important to decrease/alter standards just to appease to general populations' sense of "equality." Women in today's military do face combat situations though (pilots, MPs, other positions). It's not like all women who are in the military are limited sitting behind a desk. I have to qualify on weapons annually (just like every Soldier is expected) with the idea that, should our Combat Support Hospital come under attack, we defend our position.

Your rant is total nonsense and you do not have a clue what the army is all about
most men fail SAS selection and a lot do not make it into the infantry until your a lot
more mature your chances of joining in any role is zero.
If you want to serve with the infantry look at the role of a CMT

5 reasons:
1: the legislative body of your country that determines military requirements has said so.
2: believe it or not women are not built the same as men. They have considerably less lung mass and hormones that contribute to upper body strength. while the upper body strength can be increased by exercise, you cannot get around the differences in lung capacity.
3: believe it or not even on a skeletal level women are not built the same as men: the female hip is designed to be flexible and even to seperate for child birth, while the male hip is not. that makes females much more prone to hip injuries especially under heavy loads (like what the infantry always carries)
4: for every female that WANTS to be infantry there are at least 5 who do not to be held to the male's physical fitness standards.
5: hurting your feelings means a lot less than troops getting hurt because you cant keep up. lives mean more than feelings.
edit: you dont care what science says? please explain to me how you personally defy the laws of physics and anatomy? tell ya what: your average infantryman weighs about 200 lbs. your average load weighs about 60 lbs. go throw 360 lbs (the weight of a downed infantryman, his gear, and your gear) on your shoulders and go walk a quarter mile with it, then come back and tell me you're up to it.

Its fairly simple really. We are not equal, that's why we dont have men and women competing in the Olympics etc. You are an exception not the rule. They have had trials for women in the Infantry, Paras and Marines and they all failed. Our bodies are different.
We have one of the best armies in the world and I don't think we should lower our physical standards to enable women to join certain parts. There are plenty of other opportunities for women in the Armed Forces.

you can do the job twice as better?! haha!! try telling that to a soldier in afghanistan!!! quit being so selfish, please, and the law wont change for a long time to come, and just because you didn't hear what you wanted doesn't mean the answers are crap, the people were just trying to answer your "question", even though 3/4 of it was just a statement, I bet you couldn't do the job half as good as a soldier could, even saying you can do better than a man in uniform is disrespectful, and you wont even get in the military with that attitude.

There are other jobs available, cook, vet, doctor etc. Why not contact your local army jobs recruitment place thing and ask them about your career.
Good on you for doing all of those things too!

Men, of which I am one, still can't see women fighting to defend their country. I know it is old fashion thinking, but till these thoughts are gone from men, women will not be going into combat any time soon.

I know right, it's crap. People say women are genetically weaker than men, and whether or not that's true is fully irrelevant since we use guns.
