having a New Years Eve party?

Im thinking of having a New Years Eve party for family & a few friends, what would b easy finger food to serve or guests can serve themselves.

Its summer here in Australia at that time of year

Ill b getting party pies, party sausage rolls & cocktail Frankfurts thats the only hot stuff

so any ideas

Update:

no B-B-Q ideas i don't want to cooking while everyone has fun & this party is around 8.00pm after everyone has had their own dinner

    in exchange for using your home/location for having the party, perhaps ask people to bring a dish. When people ask what they should bring, tell each person something different. Having a "pot luck" style really takes the stress out of hosting a party.

    I am not throwing a party but plan to go out maybe. Your ideas seems right considering it will be summer there. Maybe like barbecue type finger foods, great salads and fruit salad

    EDIT: Cheers, Goldfish! :-) ~*~*~ good, surely all the Aussies, just seeing that it could be less difficult to organise, lol ~ so begin with Zucchinis, yourself, Twilight and any floating Kiwis, too ;-P however of course if travel/distance was once no object, everyone! No factor simply inviting a number of ~ one in, all in! :-) joyful New yr every body, hope 2008 is a good one for us all and a greater one for individuals who want it :-) Cheers :-)
