I am bought an HP Pavilion laptop on Newegg.com, and ever since I bought it it has had problems staying with a usable wifi signal. Network and connections center says it is connected but I have very very slow connection (my download speed drops to less than 1k/s) and this persists until I disconnect and reconnect to my wifi signal. I play games online a lot and it gets very annoying when I keep disconnecting from the server every 20 minutes. The laptop I was using before I bought my own would not do this. Is this a problem with my router, my laptop, or just a bug with windows 8? Any insight into this problem would be highly appreciated, thank you.
I have tried restarting the laptop, updating my wireless adapter's drivers, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers, resetting my router, both a power reset and a full options reset. Nothing I have done seems to be working, I am currently waiting for a new router from newegg because I wanted to see if that was the problem.
