There is a fine line between what you may perceive as bullying and how others view it. If you are a new supervisor and your staff is bullying you your boss may perceive it as a learning curve where you must adjust to being in charge and earning the respect of your staff. This is not always easy especially if one or more of your staff members think they should have been selected instead of you. If you have been a supervisor for some time and your staff is bullying you, then you may need some training on how to handle disrespectful employees. If you company will not provide the training it is worth your investing your own money and time to learn how to cope. Whether you are a new or seasoned supervisor it appears your boss is going to let things run there course. If you sue you will most likely lose and ruin your career, unless of course the bullying is so blatant you are in fear of your safety. It may be worth your while to read some books on coping with difficult situations. Most bullies are only brave as long as there is no risk. Do you do their performance evaluations, recommend bonuses, or make work assignments? These are tools at your disposal to control the situation. Have a one-on-one with your boss and let him know that you've been bullied. Do not assumed that your boss already knows.
Having witnesses is one thing but are they willing to speak up as witnesses is another.
If after speaking to your boss and he has a nonchalant attitude, then it maybe a case of hostile work environment. You may file a claim against the bully, your boss and the company but be prepared to lose your job.
