Are there any hotels in Newark, NJ or Jersey City, NJ which provide shuttles to a PATH station?
My friends and I are going to New York in a few weeks and are staying in New Jersey. Usually, I stay at the Marriott hotel near the Newark Airport, but they do not have a free shuttle to Penn Station Newark where the PATH train is to get into the city, so I usually have to take a train or cab. I was hoping to avoid this cost and hassle and find a hotel in a safe(ish) area in New Jersey that has a shuttle (free or low cost, less than a cab) that will take us to a PATH station. Has anyone an idea of a hotel that may provide this for its guests? I have done a lot of research but can't seem to find anything and was hoping someone on here would have an experience with one.
(Or if you have a suggestion of a cheaper way to get from the Marriott Airport to the PATH station, that would be appreciated too! I'm sure there are none, but it doesn't hurt to ask)!
I know cost of transportation is a natural thing when coming to NYC. But I thought that I would just ask to see if there are some more options of us besides paying for a cab. And hotels in walking distance are usually very limited, although if you have a good suggestion, I would love to hear it! :)
Thanks so much for your help!

Actually, there is transportation to Newark Penn Station. You can take the #62 bus or go28 bus to Newark Penn Station. The fare is $1.50, and the #62 runs all night.
The #40 also goes near there (at least I think it does), but it doesn't run all night.
There are also some other hotels that you can look at, like the Hilton & Best Western right by Newark Penn Station. The ones within walking distance to the PATH are all basically good areas, but something like the Riviera Hotel, which is further away is likely in a sketchy part of Newark (I don't know Newark too well, but I know that a lot of the southern & western portions of the city have high crime). The same thing with East American Trading Co Inc in Jersey City, though I don't think it's an actual hotel.

There is the Hilton in downtown Newark. Right across the street from Newark Penn Station. The problem is... due to Sandy the PATH service isn't running 24/7 last I heard so if you are out late that may present a problem.

My friend, there are plenty of hotels in Jersey City, especially in Downtown Jersey City, that are witin walking distance to the PATH trains and the ferries.
The map at the link below shows their location and nightly rate.
Good luck

Just piping in that I agree with Matt; the PATH is iffy after the superstorm. You should check the site to see when they're running and to where. They're still skipping a lot of stops in the city, and they don't seem to be going out of Hoboken (still), and it's been weeks since the storm. I don't think it'll be back to normal for a long while. . . .
