Sumac Powder gone bad?

Hello all culinary experts,

I have a quick question. I bought a jar of sumac powder like 9 months or so ago.

Its been sitting in the back of the cabinet since yesterday and when I took it out and i saw white crystals in it.

Does that mean by sumac powder has gone bad? is that fungus in there?

Can I safely consume this and not get sick?

I think Sumac is supposed to have those white crystals, it almost looks like sugar or salt granules. Look if there is an expiration date on the jar. I don't think it's been that long, as long as the jar wasn't like half open or something, you should be fine. See if there is a label on it. Good Luck!!
