Is copying PS2 games from my own disc to a USB stick legal?

I have had the temptation to play Need For Speed Most Wanted for a while now. I'm just wondering if copying it from the disc to a USB then putting it in my PS3 is legal.

    you own the game. you want to make a copy AND still own the original game disc and use the copy for your own personal use. that is legal. get rid of the disc, that's when it becomes illegal. besides, you won't be able to play the game anyway. doesn't work like that.

    if you payed for it then i would say its not illegal.
