How is being a civilian in Bagram, Afghanistan?

I have been in Bagram before as air force, but now I have gotten out and accepted a lucrative job that periodically deploys here. I would like to hear from someone that has experienced both the military and civilian side of things:

Living conditions?

How many silly army rules do you have to deal with (reflective belts, ETC)?

Current level of safety and security?

Chow hall quality!

It would depend on whether you live on the base/camp or the town, and possibly your employer. You would need to work it out with them as I imagine you will get pages and pages of rules

"Living conditions?" I was only there in transient housing, so that's not a good indicator. The permanent party people seemed to be alright.

"How many silly army rules do you have to deal with (reflective belts, ETC)?" Tons. Remember that Bagram is not a FOB or a Camp, it's an AB-which means it's actually silly USAF rules they worry about vice USA rules.

"Current level of safety and security?" Haven't been there in two years so can't say.

    "Chow hall quality!"

There's one big one there that I remember. I wasn't impressed, but I was coming from the place in Kabul that had the best DFACs in the region (judging by all the people from the Green Zone who came in to eat there). It wasn't bad, but it wasn't special.

@Conranger: nothing he's asking about at BAF is really OPSEC-ish. And there are so many LNs running around there that the Taliban already knows every detail they want (they probably know the menu for next week and who's going to be cooking what).

Do cons ever ask particularly questions that could desire to be resolved via way of discussion? Or, do they only conceal Obama bashing as questions? at the same time with: isn't Obama the worst President ever? are you able to think of how uninteresting Obama is? And, now Does Obama ever tell the actuality? in addition, you're able to see questions approximately Bush with the equivalent result: grew to become into Bush the worst President in historic previous? Why did Bush lie maximum? My ingredient is that it particularly is not an particularly question. it particularly is a rant. destroy it good right down to smaller good points, cite examples of guy or woman issues and start up a debate. case in point, you're able to say: the day till now at present, Obama reported X approximately hassle Y. yet, then he did in spite of else. What was once his motivation? with out coming up a ingredient, your question is senseless. Sorry.
