Can anyone tell me the name of a nice hotel with old character that is not priced too high in Manhattan?

The Hotel Deauville is a nice hotel. I have recently stayed there and the rooms were nice as well as the staff. It is an old hotel but very very nice. It's not far from the major places in NYC. everything is within walking distance (i walked to time square, 5th ave and the brooklyn bridge from this hotel)
