Firstly your current GCSE grades show that you have the required intelligence and hard work to take on a medicine degree at university. At the moment, yes you are on track to "get into medicine".

However my advice to you is to be pro-active. The best way is too research potential courses online and to speak to your teachers. Unquestionably the best website is UCAS (http://www.ucas.ac.uk/). It will have everything you need to know on there. On the left of the screen are the main buttons you will need to ind out this information. I would advice pressing Course search (on the left). Type in your ideal course (s) and look at what the entry requirements for those are for. Almost all universities will not look at your GCSE's. If they do it will be the core subjects; Maths, English and the three sciences. They will expect at least C in all of them, which isn't an issue with you. They only look at your A-levels which unfortunately you can't really predict on how well you will do on them. How well you do on A-levels is determined more by hard work rather than intelligence. I know a lot of people who got top GCSE results and put no effort in at all. A-Level is different.

At A2 I would never advise starting further maths. It will not be necessary for medicine. Just drop one AS and focus on the remaining 3, to get better grades as this is all you need. Only take further maths if you plan on doing a Maths Degree (or a closely related to Maths or physics degree). This is because Further Maths is incredibly difficult, complex, time-consuming and you need a real passion for maths to do well in it. If you get those grades, you can pretty much get in to any university to do medicine. Though use the UCAS website to find the official entry requirements.

    Hope this helped:)

    Yes.

You will also need a UKCAT score of ~700. There is a good book you can buy online for that:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/into-Medical-School-compre...

You will need to do a lot of work experience, start now. I cannot stress to you how important this is. An ideal work experience would look like this:

    Two weeks shadowing at GP/Hospital

One year at hospice/residential home (one day a week)

One week at a camp for disabled people

You will need some extra curricular things to talk about at your interview:

Sports teams, reading, clubs, teams, hobbies, Duke of Edinburgh, things you can talk about basically.

    Personal statement:

Has to be very good and highly reflective. Don't just say what you did at your work experience, say what you learnt and how this has helped you make an informed decision to study medicine.

    Interview:

This is the final barrier, try using this book to help:

I hope this all helps, its tough but worth it!

whilst employing for scientific college, i grew to become into advised via an admissions tutor that scholars oftentimes shouldn't situation employing in the event that they have under 5 A* at GCSE point. that's because of the fact opposition is exceptionally intense and universities won't be in a position to choose pupils on A stages on my own - they could desire to start taking different factors into consideration. hundreds of scholars will follow to scientific college with 4 As at a point, so admissions tutors could desire to start judging them on GCSEs. some universities use a factors based device the place they only take a undeniable form of GCSEs into consideration (as distinctive pupils do a distinctive form of matters). in case you have a lot of different factors (e.g. incredible paintings adventure and a brilliant very own fact), then a college could choose for to ignore appropriate to the GCSEs and could %. you for different motives. regrettably, the tough actuality is that hundreds of scholars could desire to be rejected from scientific college as opposition is intense and there merely are not adequate places
