Do video poker odds vary from real life odds?

So i have been playing zynga poker on my iPod lately to pass the time and it seems like the odds are seemed to make exciting hands. In this short time I have seen 4 of a kind 4 times ( including one of my own).

More often than not, every player has at least a pair on the board. I've had more pocket pairs than I can count. Is there any data to support my conclusion, or am I just by chance seeing such absurd hands.

(No this isn't a rant about losing)

Poker odds do NOT vary from real life odds. The only reason you have seen 4-of-a-kind four times is because you have played WAY more hands on-line than you ever would sitting around a table with your buddies shuffling and dealing a deck of cards.

If you've been playing live poker for most of your life, and then you only play on-line poker for a few months, you will almost certainly have played more on-line poker hands than what you played in a lifetime of live hands.

You're also going to see more bad beats. How many times in live poker do you find a full house losing to a better hand? It happens, but rarely. You'll see bad beats like this happening quite a few times in on-line poker.

Speaking of rants about losing, this is precisely the reason so many people DO come on here and leave rants about how real-money on-line poker is rigged. (I know that you are not.) They go on about how many bad beats they saw in just 1 week's time. They don't understand that they just finished playing 10,000 hands of poker, and they are supposed to see that many bad beats.

Nope. 4 of a kind happens all the time.

well it is pretty much even cause both ways no one knows what is going to happen and the cards are random both ways
