What are some books my 14 year old daughter might like?
She loves Rick Riordan's books, Hunger Games, City of Glass, and Legacy of Tril:Soulbroken. She prefers that books have more adventure than romance although romance is okay if that's not the whole plot. She really likes a strong heroine. She thinks Harry Potter books are too slow and boring. She isn't really into the Twilight Saga either. I am supposed to be getting a list from her as books are the main thing on her Christmas lift but thought I would ask here as well.

The Leviathan series by Scott Westerfeld is awesome. It grabs your attention from the get-go. Also includes a strong heroine named Deryn Sharp who disguises herself as a boy to enlist in the British Army during a fictionalized WWI.She falls in love with the other main protagonist Prince Alec. The romance is not the whole focus, really not even important until the second book about halfway through. It seems to take place in a very bizarre and futuristic world even though it takes place in 1917. I read the whole trilogy in a week and a half. Could not put them down.

Book 1 to a series:
Percy Jackson and the Lightening thief (This is by Rick Riordan)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (this one however may not be age appropriate for her, that's for you to decide if you'd like to get that one for her. It's also followed by movies)
Other books:
Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie
Just Ella (This is a really good one)
Odd Thomas (I haven't read it but have heard good things)
Things not seen.
The Lovely Bones (VERY GOOD BOOK, followed by movie)
Because of WinDixie

If you think she's ready, maybe Lord of the Rings.
Also, I also have the Magician Duology by Raymond Feist. Oh my God I only read the first so far but it was so good (a little slow at times, but an overall good story).

Wow! Im unlikely to place up judgment on what style of discipline you opt for to do. i in my view do sense for you, i think of i could choose to do the comparable element and phone the police and enable her see how plenty relaxing juvie is. besides the fact that she is your baby and how annoying could that be? i will understand you sense such as you're in a catch 22. i could have a police officer come to the living house and confer together with her with regard to the seriousness of battery and attack. enable her know that there in simple terms isn't a next time b/c if there is she would be able to be leaving your living house and going someplace no longer so advantageous. it is your activity to guard your son and your daughter besides, yet she has truly crossed the line with burning her infant brother. it is very frightening.
