Open Software Center or Synaptic. Click search, type in opera and when it show that file click on it and choose install. Then click apply in Synaptic or click install in the Software Center. It will do everything for you. Both the places is where you install Linux Software that is listed in the distribution repository files. That simple and doesn't need console command lines.

Those of us who have been using linux for a while will open a terminal and type "sudo apt-get update" then after that is done type "sudo apt-get install opera". After that it should show up on your menu. There is a menu option called Software Manager. I haven't used it though in a couple of years but of course it's supposed to make things easier.
