Is it wrong for Muslims to sing in a choir, or play instruments?

Yesterday, our local news channel took their cameras to an elementary school, and they filmed the school choir, and two of the singers were wearing hijab.

Also, you can't watch TV without encountering music! TV shows have their theme music at the beginning and end, and most commercials have music!

    yes music is not allowed in islam

    i am not totally sure about this, but i think the only instrument allowed is drums ( stringed instruments are a no-no)
