If your local paper goes back far enough, the library will have either microfilm, microfiche or some other copy of daily editions from any time period they were in existence. If you read those stories they can be considered primary source documents in some respects. For example the election results edition from the 1932 national election would be interesting. The best for this is to use advertisements for goods and services...for example from early 1929 before the crash, and 1932 well after the crash and show the comparison in prices, wages if you can find want ads, etc. Diaries, court records, autobiographies, and letters are all good examples of primary source documents.
